ABOUT

ANNIE NORTHFIELD

I started travelling to look for wildlife in 2018 or so, and in recent years I have become more passionate about documenting various bugging finds and excursions. The main focus of many of these adventures is invertebrate life, often species which can be encountered in semi-anthropogenic habitats such as road verges and waste ground.

I have been particularly inspired by the superb observational writings and colourful accounts of animal behaviour of Fabre, Brangham and Durrell, which often put emphasis on the intimate lives of smaller and more overlooked species.

The identifications of creatures on here are always being revised and reviewed; I am by no means an expert in any particular group, although I do have a particular passion for shieldbugs and allies. I am always open to identification corrections and discussions.
